Comparing accretion disks and dark matter spikes in intermediate mass ratio inspirals

Intermediate mass ratio inspirals (IMRIs) will be observable with space-based gravitational wave detectors such as the Llaser interferometer space antenna. To this end, environmental effects in systems have to modeled and understood. These can include (baryonic) accretion disks dark matter (DM) overdensities, so-called spikes. For first time, we model an IMRI system both disk a DM spike present compare their on inspiral emitted signal. We study eccentricity evolution, employ braking index derive dephasing index, which turn out complementary observational signatures. They allow us disentangle utilized general.
